04 Nov 09 Achieving The Best Result From The Kitchen By Updating Your Kitchen Mixer Faucet

As I’m sure you’re aware, the correct type of kitchen taps can improve the look of a kitchen. And, whether you’re just updating the taps themselves or doing an entire kitchen revamp, going for the right tap to accompany your decoration is of paramount importance.

With the choice of finishes and styles in the shops today, you would think that uncovering the right one should be really simple. However, you could end up spoiled for choice or, if yourparticular sink is a few years old, compatibility issues may well minimize your options in some way.

Side Bar: If will be just updating your current taps but not the kitchen sink, you’ll have to discover a kitchen mixer tap, that is going to sit in the sink’s mounting-hole(s) and if your sink is a few years old and has two tap holes, then you will have to take a measurement of the distance between the hole-centres. Once this is done, you may discover that your choices are restricted somewhat. I’ve been here and had to say goodbye to all the latest styles.

Once you have isolated what will and will not fit your sink, the next job is to select a style. If your kitchen décor is modern, you will want something with a more up to date look; possibly with a dull finish. However, should your kitchen be more toward traditional, then, one of the more classic styles with a buffed yellow metal finish may be more befitting.

There’s one more consideration to think about: budget. Please don’t make the same mistake I made some time ago and waste your hard earned money on a cheap, imported mixer tap. The one I got looked beautiful when I first took it out of the wrapping but a while down the road when the thing began to fall apart, I wished I had spent some more and got higher quality.
